neckline adjustment


After trying on the garment and marking for desired neck adjustment, take off and turn it inside out.

After trying on the dress and marking for desired neck adjustment, take the garment off and turn it inside out.

Starting at the fold, draw a curve for neckline in chalk.

Do not alter the shoulder line, use a ruler if necessary to maintain the edge so it will still match the back.



Carefully cut through both layers of the front with scissors or a rotary cutter.

Optional step, to prevent unwanted stretching, staystitch around the neckline. Sew 1⁄4 inch (3 mm) from the edge. This won't show once the bias tape is attached. Try the garment on again to check neckline.
